Career Experience

I was a middle school English teacher for 28 years. I worked with general ed students along with students on IEPs and 504s. In my career I also taught summer school for both middle school and elementary students, and I was a writing tutor. I was the middle school drama director, and I ran the school reading club.

I Love Tutoring Because

working with students one-on-one is my favorite thing about teaching. I love being able to assist and encourage students along with helping them gain confidence in their abilities.

I had another amazing session with this tutor! She remembered me from our last appointment, and once again she was incredibly patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable. She didn't just tell me what to write鈥攕he helped me understand why my ideas worked and how to organize them into a stronger essay. Because of the help I received during our last session, my grade improved significantly, which gave me so much confidence going into this assignment. After today's session, I feel even more confident in my writing and analysis. I'm so grateful for her guidance and truly hope I can work with her again. She has made such a positive difference in my success in this class!

Jolene M was truly exceptional. This was, without a doubt, the best tutoring experience I have ever had. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping me succeed. She took the time to understand exactly what I needed, explained everything in a way that was easy to follow, and made me feel completely comfortable asking questions.
