Students feel that their 鈥渧ery open, intelligent, helpful, and welcoming鈥� peers are a big part of what makes 鈥済oing to college at Capital University a great experience.鈥� While a majority of students are white, respondents point to a 鈥渧ery diverse鈥� environment in practice, particularly through 鈥渁 good showing for cultural diversity with events.鈥� There鈥檚 also a nice mix of backgrounds: 鈥渕usicians, athletes, transfer students, [and] international students who are always friendly and welcoming.鈥� For the most part, 鈥渁ll of the students get along pretty well and really embody a positive environment.鈥� And because there are under 2,000 students, 鈥測ou are able to see your friends all the time and learn to be a more social person overall.鈥� As one student happily summarizes: 鈥淢y peers have humor and wit. Both combined, they [make] for amazing academic resources and friends that help along the way towards graduation here at Capital.鈥�

鈥淟ife at school is lively and there is always something going on.鈥� Many students attend the free or low-cost events put on by the Office of Student and Community Engagement and the Campus Activities Board, which 鈥渁re often large, with free food and activities, and sometimes鈥�excursions off campus, such as to a hockey game, a gaming center鈥�or even amusement parks.鈥� The gym is popular, as are the numerous athletes who 鈥済et support from all students.鈥� Greek life is also big and allows 鈥渇or students to get involved on campus, in their community, and even in broader communities.鈥� The 鈥渙utdoor campus is well-maintained and beautiful,鈥� and there is easy access to downtown Columbus. Students note that while 鈥渁 lot of people go home on the weekends,鈥� the university is 鈥済ood at finding an interest for everyone and makes sure to have commuter-specific events.鈥� There are more than 90 student organizations, ranging from philanthropic and cultural organizations to interest-based organizations and even clubs for specific games. 鈥淚t鈥檚 so easy to get involved in a variety of organizations, from recreational, professional, and social,鈥� says one student.
