There are many reasons to attend the University of Dayton, but the one mentioned above all is its experiential learning. "We have opportunities for real world experience in every major" (and sometimes even further independent expertises by department), like "the Sophomore Experience Entrepreneurship Program that gives students a $5,000 grant to run their own microbusiness." Engineers have space, time, and resources to build rigs and run experiments, "the music program is phenomenal," and minicourses in subjects like microeconomics utilize the Dayton area to show "the interaction between economics and the environment through outdoor excursions that were often very informative." All of this is backstopped by the professors, to whom students give high marks. "Most of my professors have been extremely nice, approachable, and engaging." They "challenge you but also really want you to succeed, especially if you participate in discussions and provide quality work on assignments and exams." Indeed, "they want to show each student that they have potential to be great, but they have to unlock it."

At the University of Dayton, learning and excitement extend far beyond the classroom: "there are activities going on everywhere, on-campus jobs to partake in, as well as a variety of organizations and clubs." As one undergrad elaborates, "I've been in Bella Voce (the women's choral ensembles), Opera Workshop (a musical theater class)...and Javanese Gamelan ensemble (a percussion tradition from Indonesia)." Additionally, "intramural sports are very active on campus...[along with] professional organizations that align with your major, ethnicity, or gender." Of course, there's plenty of casual fun to be had as well; students mention sledding in winter, hanging out at Kennedy Union and "[playing] pool or [going] bowling at the Hangar." And eating is a serious activity at Dayton, given that "the food is awesome." Offerings in our residential experience include: HRL staff training on mental health and response which includes REACH training, scenario-based responses, and Emotional Intelligence. TYPES OF TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE TO CAMPUS
The University of Dayton campus is located 20 minutes south of Dayton International Airport. Cincinnati and Columbus airports are also located within a 75 minute drive. Greyhound bus service is available to downtown Dayton. Transportation from the bus terminal to campus is available by Yellow, Cliff and Checker cab companies, as well as the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) public bus service. The RTA bus stop is located two blocks west of the Greyhound Terminal, at the corner of Fourth and Ludlow streets. The RTA bus to UD is #16. In addition, the University provides a ride board for students, allowing those with cars to post rides available, and those without cars to post rides needed.

There are many reasons to attend the University of Dayton, but the one mentioned above all is its experiential learning. "We have opportunities for real world experience in every major" (and sometimes even further independent expertises by department), like "the Sophomore Experience Entrepreneurship Program that gives students a $5,000 grant to run their own microbusiness." Engineers have space, time, and resources to build rigs and run experiments, "the music program is phenomenal," and minicourses in subjects like microeconomics utilize the Dayton area to show "the interaction between economics and the environment through outdoor excursions that were often very informative." All of this is backstopped by the professors, to whom students give high marks. "Most of my professors have been extremely nice, approachable, and engaging." They "challenge you but also really want you to succeed, especially if you participate in discussions and provide quality work on assignments and exams." Indeed, "they want to show each student that they have potential to be great, but they have to unlock it."

Given the "relatively small class sizes, it's easy to get to know a lot of people in your major" and others more simply describe it as common to see "strangers quickly become friends and friends become like family." The Co-Pilots are a peer group that help students take the first step in discussing their wellbeing goals in a comforting environment. Through dialogue and one on one connection, the Co-Pilots are here to normalize talking about emotions, breaking down stigmas, and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all members of the UD community. This is a paraprofessional student group, advised by the Brook Center professional staff, who participate in a one credit hour course every semester, participate in a multiple day training experience annually, and meet with key stakeholders throughout the year. Offerings in our residential experience include: HRL staff training on mental health and response which includes REACH training, scenario-based responses, and Emotional Intelligence. Through the residential curriculum we facilitate monthly community building meetings during which students have the opportunity to reflect on balance and self-care during and to respond to their stress levels as part of a monthly reflective assessment. This reflective assessment also shares campus resources that are available to meet their needs. Additionally, our residential curriculum offers students the opportunity to connect individually with staff members as part of an Intentional Conversation focused on building a support network and adapting to change. Through the AVIATE program, Campus Partner engagement opportunities focusing on mental health and wellbeing content are incentivized through the housing assignment process/PATH credit.

At the University of Dayton, learning and excitement extend far beyond the classroom: "there are activities going on everywhere, on-campus jobs to partake in, as well as a variety of organizations and clubs." As one undergrad elaborates, "I've been in Bella Voce (the women's choral ensembles), Opera Workshop (a musical theater class)...and Javanese Gamelan ensemble (a percussion tradition from Indonesia)." Additionally, "intramural sports are very active on campus...[along with] professional organizations that align with your major, ethnicity, or gender." Of course, there's plenty of casual fun to be had as well; students mention sledding in winter, hanging out at Kennedy Union and "[playing] pool or [going] bowling at the Hangar." And eating is a serious activity at Dayton, given that "the food is awesome." Some students describe "a lot of partying" on the weekends, but also suggest that "people do not pressure you into drinking if you don't want to."

TYPES OF TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE TO CAMPUS
The University of Dayton campus is located 20 minutes south of Dayton International Airport. Cincinnati and Columbus airports are also located within a 75 minute drive. Greyhound bus service is available to downtown Dayton. Transportation from the bus terminal to campus is available by Yellow, Cliff and Checker cab companies, as well as the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) public bus service. The RTA bus stop is located two blocks west of the Greyhound Terminal, at the corner of Fourth and Ludlow streets. The RTA bus to UD is #16. In addition, the University provides a ride board for students, allowing those with cars to post rides available, and those without cars to post rides needed.

From I-75, southbound (from Toledo): Exit #51 at Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. Turn left and follow Edwin C. Moses Boulevard east to Stewart Street.
