The Center for Wellness Promotion addresses many issues that are important to students' health, wellbeing, and safety including interpersonal violence prevention, substance use prevention, recovery from substance misuse, sexual health, and general wellness. We aspire to empower the University community in developing healthier attitudes and behaviors to create a safer and more equitable campus. In addition to our multidisciplinary team of professionals, our student Wellness Peer Health Educators, help to deliver the following presentations, programs, and services. Some of our specific non-credit offerings include: Program Requests by Academics (i.e. Classroom Presentations), Student Orgs, Other Campus Partners; The H.E.L.P. Certificate: The Health Education Leadership and Prevention (H.E.L.P) Certificate program provides students with non-academic credit for participating in national prevention training opportunities on various health and wellbeing issues. Students will gain the skills and confidence to provide support, connect peers with appropriate resources, and respond effectively to mental health, interpersonal violence, substance use, identity-based issues, and medical emergencies. The H.E.L.P. Certificate is a program in partnership with Center for Wellness Promotion (CWP), Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health, and Office of Identity, Equity, and Inclusion (IEE); and itMatters: itMatters is a set of online modules for college students with behavioral strategies, tools and campus resources proven to help students make informed, healthy choices. Grounded in prevention science, itMatters targets the intersection of alcohol and sexual risk behaviors, sexual violence prevention, mental wellness and sleep wellness.

The city?s light rail extension line provides service to the university?s main campus and Center City building. UNC Charlotte is located on state Route 49 approximately 8 miles northeast of uptown Charlotte. It can be reached easily from either interstate 77 or 85.
